Mammoth Peak

We'd narrowed our options down for the final hike to an intermediate difficulty climb. Bill proposed Mammoth Peak, and Mammoth Peak fit the bill. Not too long a drive, not too long an approach and not too tough a climb.

Stella opted to spend the day reading by a lake in Little Lakes Valley instead. So Bill and Frank set off reasonably early and waited an hour in line at the Tioga Pass Yosemite Park entrance. We parked up the road from the parking lot, on the shoulder, because the lot was full. Yet - aside from one group up the trail a bit, we saw no one all day.
