Shepherd Crest

She seems somewhat harried as I lead across the traverse. Traversing on a ridge has a rather airy feel to it, and requires some pretty awkward moves. After following about half way across, she decides to turn back and wait on the minor summit, visibly distressed. I comfort her before continuing up to the summit. -F


The traverse is wide and has plenty of holds, but I'm getting more and more anxious. I'm shaking and about to break down. Why can't I calm down? I decide that whatever the reason I'm having a bad day, it's not getting better, and I'll only feel worse if I keep pushing. Frank stays with me a few minutes. Then I turn and go back to the minor summit. I'm upset and disappointed that I wasn't able to enjoy this climb. -S
