Lookout Peak
11.75 km and 484 m elevation gain in 7 hours total time.
For our third day, Bill suggested Lookout Peak again, which seemed pretty reasonable. For a few years, it had been our first-day hike, defeating us every time, until we were finally successful using a route Bill figured out, from the South side, skirting the edge of Ruby Lake. His impromptu descent route had been less successful, leaving Stella and me with a rather bad experience. This time, we would come down the way we went up.
A good plan, except it didn't account for my having become so slow! We did not acheive the summit, but had we started an hour earlier, we likely would have. -F.
