Rest Day: Horseshoe Slabs Recon



Up on the shelf I set to work building a three-legged trad anchor. The back wall cliff didn't offer much on cracks, but there was this big rock sticking out of the ground with a good crack in it. I tested by stomping hard on the individual pieces while Bill felt for a vibration. No vibration meant the rock was part of the Earth, of the bed-rock and would be solid. We had one good crack. The unuseable outer piece of the boulder had broken off and moved. -F.
