Horseshoe Slabs



Back at the top of the ledge, we prepared to practice rappelling. While Bill looked for placements on the far wall to reinforce our trad anchor, I began placing cams in the crack for it. But messed up on the very first one which was a size too large. When I stuck it in as far as I could, it was fully retracted and impossible to pull back out. Bill and I, mostly Bill, worked more than half an hour to get it to move. Finally Bill managed to move it a little, and then kept doing that to wear material off of the lobes - just enough for some play so he could pull it out! After that, we decided to just call it a day. -F.
