But for the rest of it, I was tempted to follow Kitt's lead and title this travelogue "Ending Things" because increasingly as the days passed I became more and more convinced that this would be my final Mammoth trip. For one thing, from year to year I have more trouble acclimatizing, can't sleep because of it, and have become old and slow and limited in my performance. And somehow too, Mammoth and the Sierra have lost their magic. -F.
