But over the last several years, this love has been slipping and the drudgery of the training hikes has bled into Mammoth. The relationship has started to become toxic. I can't sleep. I can't absorb enough oxygen to function adequately. That's toxic.

Over my life I've tended to terminate relationships when they turn toxic. Even close ones, very close. By the end of the week, I'd concluded that it's time to end this one. -F.
