Now it was slow and tedious. Bill of course charged on ahead, though he will complain how weak and slow he is, too. Stella stayed behind me for a while but then also plowed ahead. Every step of this steep trail was belabored. Welcome to 11,000 ft!

By now I had abandoned the idea of taking the 2013 descent route up, which Bogdan had scurried back up then to search for the missing lens cap he had in his pocket. -F.
