Mammoth Crest



The decision that this would be my final Mammoth trip crept in softly over the course of the week, at night and on the trail, and I grieved as the thought developed in my mind. I grieved because the Sierra has meant so much to me, and I don't want it to be over. It's like letting go of a relationship gone sour with a person who has ceased reciprocating the love. You can't put it behind you, but you have to. -F.
