Convict Canyon



I was happy to turn around here as well. I didn't feel driven to reach Mildred Lake, and nor did I really feel like making the crossing either. We were out in the wilderness, and Stella's fall had rattled me, too, a bit. What if one of us did get hurt here and couldn't continue? The confidence of our younger years has really faded, hasn't it? I did not want a challenge. I wanted to have a pleasant outing with Stella, and that's what we were doing. We turned back. -F.
