Mammoth Trip, 2026

September 15

Mammoth Crest

I remember seeing an interview with Reinhold Messner where he spoke of the perhaps hypothetical case of someone coming to the mountains with the express intent of hurling himself into the depths, of suicide. Messner said, he wouldn't be able to. He'd climb the mountain, but then he'd be so filled with Life that he would not be able to jump. -F.
