Mammoth Crest



On the Deer Pass plateau, Stella and I were alone and I broke the news of my decision to her, unable to hold back the tears as I related how I arrived at it in the sleepless nights I spent reflecting, that Mammoth was over for me. I'm done with Mammoth.

I told her I wouldn't mind if she and Bill kept it up as long as they could, but I can't anymore. -F.

His words were heartbreaking. We've loved the Sierra so much. I couldn't bear the idea that it was over for him. -S.
